Ph.D.
in
Psychology
(2007),
is
an
Associate
Professor
at
ISCTE-IUL,
where
she
teaches
since
1998.Her
research
is
theoretically
based
on
social
psychology
and
a
situated
approach
to
human
cognition,
which
emphasizes
the
importance
of
the
context
in
which
cognitive
activity
develops.
She
has
applied
this
approach
to
the
study
of
memory,
cognitive
representations,
and
processing
of
a
second
language.
At
the
same
time,
she
has
explored
its
implications
for
the
study
of
abusive
parenting,
social
images
of
institutionalized
children
/
youth,
memory
processing
in
clinical
populations,
and
in
the
areas
of
consumer
psychology,
marketing
and
eating
behavior.
She
has
coordinated
several
funded
research
projects
(FCT,
EU),
as
well
as
doctoral
and
postdoctoral
students.
She
has
obtained
several
individual
fellowships
that
allowed
her
to
work
during
her
Ph.D.
at
the
University
of
California
-
Santa
Barbara
and
latter
at
Utrecht
University.
