João Carvalho is a Principal Researcher at the CIES-IUL and actually coordinates the research project entitled: Impact of immigration on the Portuguese Agriculture: the case of Alentejo (funded by Fund of Aslyum, Migration and Integration). He was an invited Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at the ISCTE-IUL between 2015 and 2018. A second edition of his comparative monograph entitled: Impact of Extreme Right Parties on Immigration Policy. Comparing Britain, France and Italy, was recently republished by Routledge in 2016. He is the author and co-author of book chapter published in Portuguese, English and French language. He is also the author and co-auhtor of research articles published in high-ranking journals such as Party Politics, Government and Opposition, Comparative European Politics, Parliamentary Affairs, Ethnic and Racial Studies, Patterns of Prejudice.
