25 julho 2018 | 13h30 - 14h30 | Sala C3.02

Workshop de Investigação CIES-IUL

In recent decades human trafficking has become a significant international concern. The problem has attracted the attention of numerous national governments and non-governmental organizations, and has been considered one of the priorities on the agenda of several international agencies. Activists and the media have drawn attention to human trafficking, which has become one of the most talked-about issues of the modern day.

In the years following the ratification of the UN Trafficking Protocol, Portugal and Turkey made a constant effort to align with the international and European anti-trafficking laws and policies and establish an anti-trafficking system. Based on empirical research on this issue, the anti-trafficking systems in both countries will be analyzed. Special attention will be paid to the implementation of policies and capillarisation of discourse with regard to human trafficking and trafficked people from the international to national level.
