ASTRA’s second summer school with the title Pathways of ecological, economic and social sustainability transition will be held in Lisbon, Portugal from 23rd May until 3rd June 2022. It is organised by Iscte – University Institute of Lisbon. The main focus will be on three important intersecting themes:
a) agenda of biosphere protection and sustainable use of nature for human well-being;
b) new models of sustainable local and regional economies;
c) social inclusion by contributive justice and ecosocial innovations.
The main aim is to strengthen and deepen the understanding of the complex interconnectivity between environmental, economical and social sustainability and its applicability to social work theory, research and practice. The summer school consists of the three main pillars.
These are:
1. Workshops, lectures, and discussion on the main topic;
2. Thematic workshop of the research Work Packages 2, 3 and 4; and,
3. Gaining skills in public engagement, transdisciplinary communication, and dissemination to obtain understanding and competence across disciplines, sectors and culture-specific environments.
In addition to the lecturers from academia, non-academic partners will also play an important role in enabling a better understanding of the applicability of the transformative paradigm to practical projects and everyday practices.
