António Firmino da Costa (antonio.costa@iscte-iul.pt). PhD in Sociology. Full Professor at the Department of Sociology of the Iscte-University Institute of Lisbon. Member of the Centre for Research and Studies in Sociology (Cies-Iscte). Editor of the scientific journal Sociologia, Problemas e Praticas. Member of the Standing Committee of the General Council of Iscte. Member of the Standing Committee of the Scientific Council of Iscte. Member of the Scientific Council of the Inequality Observatory ((OD). Member of the Scientific Council of the Portuguese Observatory on Cultural Activities (OPAC). Founder of the CIES-Centre for Research and Studies in Sociology, of ISCTE (1985).
