Sandra Palma Saleiro, a researcher at CIES-Iscte, was this year's recipient of the AMPLOS - Mothers and Fathers Association for Freedom of Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Rainbow Award, for her outstanding role as a researcher and activist in promoting gender equality and defending the rights of transgender people in Portugal.

The Rainbow Awards are given annually by the ILGA-Portugal Association to people and institutions that distinguish themselves in the fight against discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender expression and identity and sexual characteristics.
