On 10 April, Iscte - Instituto Universitário de Lisboa hosted the presentation of the book O Mundo do Trabalho a Partir de Baixo. Retratos e Percursos, a work that delves into the Portuguese social fabric by exploring the lives of eight workers whose trajectories are characterised by recurring forms of social vulnerability, contractual instability and uncertainty about the future.

The book, which is part of the research project EmployALL - The Employment Crisis and the Welfare State in Portugal: determining the Production of Social Vulnerabilities and Inequalities, adopts a theoretical-methodological approach to discuss and analyse the experiences of these workers. 

The presentation highlighted the diversity of interpretations of experiences lived amid social and economic crises, revealing a plurality of meanings and contents.

The book launch was attended by the authors and guest speakers, who were also part of the project's research team. The book, published by Mundos Sociais, is available on open access.
