The latest update of the SJR Index (Scimago Journal Ranking) recognises the journal Ler História's rise to Q1 again.

For José Vicente Serrão, director of the journal, this attests to the journal's preeminence in the field of Portuguese history.

Created in 1983, Ler História is a Portuguese academic journal in the scientific field of History, published jointly by the Centre for Research and Studies in Sociology and the Centre for International Studies at Iscte - Instituto Universitário de Lisboa.

The journal publishes works dedicated mainly to the history of Portugal, the Portuguese empire and the Lusophone countries, in the modern and contemporary periods, focusing on historiographical issues, including theoretical and methodological reflection.
