Helena Machado, a researcher at CIES-Iscte, participated in the Science 2025 Meeting, this year dedicated to the theme “Science, Innovation, and Society,” which took place on July 9 and 11 at the NOVA SBE campus in Carcavelos.
At the invitation of the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), Helena Machado participated as a keynote speaker in the plenary session “AI4Science and Tools for the Science of the Future.” In her speech, she reflected on the importance of public participation in the design of artificial intelligence, promoting an interdisciplinary perspective that combines sociology with other scientific areas.
Helena Machado is the coordinator of the fAIces project - Facial Recognition Technologies: Etho-Assemblages and Alternative Futures, funded by the European Research Council (ERC) through an Advanced Grant totalling €2.46 million.
