Sociology,
is
an
assistant
professor
at
Iscte
–
Instituto
Universitário
de
Lisboa,
and
a
researcher
at
CIES-Iscte
–
Center
for
Research
and
Studies
in
Sociology.
She
is
the
vice-director
of
the
Sociology
Bachelor’s
Program
and
a
member
of
the
Scientific
Council
of
the
Department
of
Sociology.
She
has
worked
on
research
projects
regarding
gender,
gender
equality,
and
gender-based
violence;
transgender
identities
and
gender
diversity;
social
inequalities,
poverty,
and
social
exclusion;
and
evaluation
methodologies,
as
well
as
the
evaluation
of
public
policies,
programs,
and
projects.
In
her
doctoral
thesis,
titled
“Trans
Genders:
A
Sociological
Approach
to
Gender
Diversity,”
she
mapped
the
diversity
of
(trans)gender
identities
and
expressions
in
Portuguese
society.
Among
her
most
recent
projects,
she
coordinated
the
“National
Study
on
the
Needs
of
LGBTI
People
and
Discrimination
Based
on
Sexual
Orientation,
Gender
Identity
and
Expression,
and
Sex
Characteristics,”
