Tiago Carvalho was one of those chosen by the jury and students of Brown University to teach a chair in the renowned Department of Portuguese and Brazilian Studies of this institution, considered one of the best institutions of higher education in the United States.

In the spring semester of 2022/2023, the CIES-Iscte researcher will teach a course on "Regimes of Contention: the case of Portugal in Comparative Perspective".

The call was held within the scope of a protocol between FLAD and Brown University, through which a Visiting Professor Program dedicated to the Culture and History of Portugal and to Social Sciences related to contemporary Portugal was created.

The choice of the visiting professors took into account the quality of the curricula, the experience of teaching in English and the relevance of the programmes of the subjects proposed by the candidates. CIES-Iscte congratulates the researcher.
