Gustavo Cardoso, a researcher at CIES and a professor at the Department of Sociology of Iscte - Instituto Universitário de Lisboa, has been elected by the Class of Letters of the Lisbon Academy of Sciences as a corresponding member of the 9th Section - Communication and the Arts.

His swearing-in ceremony as a new member is scheduled for 4th July 2024, Academy Day, at 15:00 in the Salão Nobre of the Lisbon Academy of Sciences.

Gustavo Cardoso is the director of the Iscte PhD in Communication Sciences and is involved in numerous projects in the field of communication, including IBERIFIER - Iberian Digital Media Observatory, a European project dedicated to the fight against disinformation.

CIES-Iscte congratulates the researcher on his election.
