CIES welcomes new PhD students for 2025/2026
On October 6, CIES-Iscte hosted a new generation of doctoral students for the 2025/2026 academic year, in a welcome session that marked the official start of these researchers' academic journey.
The meeting was attended by CIES Director Teresa Patrício, as well as the directors of the eight doctoral programs managed by the center, who welcomed the new doctoral students and highlighted the importance of interdisciplinary and collaborative research in the context of CIES.
During the session, a brief introduction to CIES-Iscte was presented, highlighting the main research areas and the network of projects and partnerships in which the center is involved. New students also had the opportunity to learn about the research support structure, available resources, and funding and scholarship opportunities that may accompany their academic journey.

The session also served as a moment of integration and sharing, promoting contact between the new doctoral students, the program coordinators, and the center's research team. This first meeting was designed as a space for dialogue and rapprochement with the scientific community that characterizes CIES.
With this initiative, CIES reaffirms its commitment to advanced training and scientific excellence, encouraging new researchers to develop innovative and socially impactful projects in an environment of collaboration, interdisciplinarity, and academic rigor.
