The Center for Research and Studies in Sociology (CIES-Iscte), under the umbrella of the Iscte Association – Knowledge and Innovation, is announcing a call for applications for one (1) PhD Student Research Fellowship as part of the exploratory project "CIPO - Public Opinion in the Iberian Peninsula: A Political Realignment?" (Ref. 2023.14145.PEX), funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT, I.P.).

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  • Master’s degree in Political Science.
  • Active enrollment in a Ph.D. program in Political Science (or a sworn statement committing to fulfill this requirement by the time of contract signing).


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Research experience in the Social Sciences (particularly in immigration and policy issues).
  2. Experience with qualitative methodologies (document analysis and analysis of political demands).
  3. Experience entering data into quantitative software (e.g., SPSS).
  4. Proficient command of English (spoken and written).

 

DURATION

The fellowship will last for 3 months, with a planned start date in September 2026. It may be renewable up to the maximum limit of the approved funding or up to the maximum duration allowed for this type of fellowship, whichever occurs first.
