The Doctoral Colloquium of the School of Sociology and Public Policy (ESPP) is an initiative held since 2013, in which ongoing research developed within the doctoral programmes coordinated by the School’s two research centres — the Centre for Research and Studies in Sociology (CIES-Iscte) and the Centre for International Studies (CEI-Iscte) — is publicly presented and discussed.
Its main objective is to present the ongoing research carried out within these programmes to the academic community, while also promoting broader public debate on research problems, methods, and findings. In this way, the initiative contributes to the dissemination of the work developed in the doctoral programmes and fosters greater involvement of doctoral students in the academic community, supporting them in the development of their theses.
