From 26 June to 7 July, CIES-Iscte participated in another edition of the "Science in the Holidays for Young People" initiative promoted by Agência Ciência Viva. For two weeks, the five primary and secondary school students had the opportunity to come into close contact with research centres through activities led by CIES-Iscte and CEI-Iscte researchers.

Under the theme "Challenges of 21st Century Society", disinformation, war, social movements, social and student activism, gender equality and sustainability were explored, providing the participants with a varied programme to develop critical thinking. Students were also introduced to a number of research methodologies and had the opportunity to interact with researchers from a range of academic disciplines who guided them in the development of their final individual and group projects. Participants were thus challenged to carry out a small research project, putting into practice the methodological techniques they had been exposed to during the first week of the placement.

This edition of the OCJF was, once again, held in partnership with CEI-Iscte.
