Iscte – Instituto Universitário de Lisboa is now accepting applications for two types of scholarships for third-cycle students for the 2025/2026 academic year. The application deadline is September 17, 2025.

Merit Scholarship: This scholarship offers a monthly amount equivalent to the national doctoral scholarships provided by FCT. It is available to new students and those who are enrolled in the first year of the 2024-2025 academic year.
Tuition Fee Exemption Scholarship: This scholarship is for new students who have completed a master’s degree at Iscte in the two academic years immediately preceding the start of their doctoral studies. This includes students who will complete or have completed their master’s degree in the 2024-2025 academic year.

These scholarships are aimed at students seeking to enrol for the first time in doctoral programs in the following fields: Public Administration, Political Science, Communication Sciences, Modern and Contemporary History, Public Policy, Social Work, School Administration and Management Policy, and Sociology. All these programs are part of the Centre for Research and Studies in Sociology, an Iscte research unit recognised for its scientific excellence in social sciences.
Additionally, students already enrolled in the doctoral programs, as well as those applying for the PhD program during the 6th phase (from June 26 to August 27, 2025), are also eligible to apply.
