CIES-Iscte took part once again in the European Researchers’ Night, held on 26 September at the National Museum of Natural History and Science, in Lisbon.
Under the theme “Science for Global Challenges”, the event brought together researchers and the general public for debates, interactive activities and experiences that highlighted the role of science in addressing contemporary issues.
CIES-Iscte presented two different initiatives, noted for their thematic diversity and strong public engagement:
-
Between the Intimate and the Global: Perspectives on Reproductive and Environmental Justice
A participatory journey inviting visitors to reflect on the links between personal choices, social justice and global environmental challenges. -
The Cultural Heritage Game
Inspired by the traditional Game of the Goose, this playful and educational activity encouraged participants to test their knowledge and explore curiosities about culture and research in Portugal.
These activities were led by research teams from nascer.pt – Social Studies on Birth Laboratory, the OPAC – Portuguese Observatory on Cultural Activities.
The overall assessment of the participation was highly positive, with strong audience engagement, dynamic interactions, and keen interest in the topics explored. Through this initiative, CIES-Iscte reinforces its commitment to science communication, dialogue between science and society, and the promotion of informed and active citizenship.
